Take part in a local fundraiser swim down the Whakatāne River from the Whakatāne Landing Road Bridge to the Coastguard Boat Shed.

This locally organised event, aims to raise funds and awareness for “The Big Swim Aotearoa” - a nationwide fundraiser supporting Coastguard Aotearoa.

There are three swim options available, with water safety support throughout the event including kayakers alongside swimmers and Coastguard boats trailing on the water, making it accessible for a range of ages and abilities.

A BBQ will be held afterwards at the Whakatāne Coastguard Boat Shed for participants and supporters to enjoy.

Swim options:

• 4KM – Whakatāne Bridge → Coastguard Whakatāne
• 1KM – Whakatāne Bridge → Eivers Road
• 1KM – Whakatāne Yacht Club → Coastguard Whakatāne
