A section of Thornton Road was closed for several hours on Monday morning after a logging truck rolled.
Whakatāne acting prevention manager Senior Sergeant James Renwick said the crash occurred at about 3.40am.
It appeared that the west-bound truck and trailer unit rolled while taking a corner of the Thornton S-bends, causing logs to spill across the road.
No one was injured, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
The road reopened by 11.45am.
