The Ōpōtiki Friendship Club meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the Ōpōtiki Golf Club, offering a social outlet for 30-plus members, which is built around fellowship and outings.
President John Norman, pictured, said the club, previously known as Probus, had guest speakers, trips and attended matinée film screenings.
There will be a Christmas lunch on December 2.
The club has an arrangement with the Deluxe Theatre and regularly attends movies there, usually on the third Tuesday of the month.
The next movie will be Eleanor the Great, on November 18.
On December 9 they will see a film featuring the famous conductor Andre Rieu and his orchestra.
“Previously, we have attended shows in Whakatane and Tauranga and we’re open to new ideas for outings, though these days driving long distances can be tricky for our ageing membership,” Mr Norman said.
“We’re always on the lookout for new members – call us on 07 315 6568.”
