Excellence and aspiration celebrated at Tarawera High

Success and aspiration were celebrated at Tarawera High School, where Abbey Turner-Manzanza was named Dux for 2025.

Abbey will continue her education journey at Victoria University of Wellington, studying for a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychological Science.

Her academic excellence and commitment to learning have been acknowledged through scholarships from the Bay of Plenty Education Trust and The Masonic Lodge, Kawerau.

Proxime Accessit Carys Carter will be pursuing a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Waikato.

She has been awarded several scholarships, including the Te Paewai o te Rangi Scholarship – one of Waikato University’s top awards for school leavers, valued at $30,000. Her dedication and service have also been recognised through scholarships from Sequal Lumber (Piwi King Award) for contribution to the community, the Tasman Charitable Trust, and The Masonic Lodge, Kawerau.
