After we sold our property at Awakeri the owners cut down all the trees that we had planted.
There was a section with native trees over 40 years old and three Kauri trees, 22 years old.
I rang the council and said to them that I understood that kauri over a certain age was protected.
The council told me that the trees had to be registered with council first.
So, were the ones mentioned in Friday’s Beacon at White Pine Bush and Putiki Road registered?
If not, they should be able to do what they like with it.
