The Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road will be closed to eastbound traffic between Papamoa and Paengaroa on Saturday.

The closure from 5.30am to 1pm is to allow completion of the cycle leg of the Tauranga Half Triathlon.

Eastbound drivers can use the toll-free route via Te Puke. The westbound lanes will remain open for the duration of the race.

New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi expects minor delays for those travelling on the toll road during the event.

There will be traffic management at the Domain Road Interchange and Paengaroa Roundabout to ease congestion.
