Police recruitment in Eastern Bay continues, with 15 new recruits recently arriving from Police College and beginning their policing careers.

An additional officer is due to arrive in February.

Eight people have commenced training with the intention of attending Police College later this year.

Police encourage anyone in the community interested in an exciting and rewarding career to speak with Senior Constable Rob Jones about joining the police.

In addition, police dog handler capability is progressing, with one operational dog handler expected to start in Whakatāne in early April. A second handler will follow once training requirements for the dog are met.
