In response to Dave Stewart’s letter “Open warfare in this coalition” (Beacon, December 17) concerning the dysfunctional Te Pati Māori Party being reported on by mainstream media, when it is clearly made available to anybody who tunes into channel 31 at 2pm on days that Parliament sits.
He says: “We” know from experience just how divided National is. I believe this is a left-wing view that has no credibility except sour grapes that the National Coalition has done so well considering the extreme damage Labour has left behind to clean up.
The threshold of parliamentary standards has been lowered by the Te Pati Māori, not Chris Luxon – for example doing the haka without permission, wearing hats in Parliament, using threatening and intimidating behaviour in Parliament and turning the highest court in the land into a kangaroo court.
Unless you believe the left media, the National Coalition is doing a great job reversing all the Woke BS that was put in place by the previous Labour Coalition government.
As for needing to borrow more money than Grant Robertson, I believe it was to pay the interest on the massive debt left behind and to keep our country going in the right direction.
When you say someone else needs to be given a shot, I hope you do not mean Labour, Greens and Te Pati Māori.
They had a shot for six years and the whole country went down the toilet.
Labour has a policy for a capital gains tax promising to use the tax to allow all New Zealanders a free visit to the doctor three times a year as a sweetener to get it over the line.
It is already free to see a doctor at A and E and there is now a free after-hours doctor in Whakatāne.
With regard to Mr Stewart’s letter on February 6, “A lefty Laughs Out Loud”, I have a list of media lefties I can provide for you to peruse that shows that media lefties are not invisible.
