A man has been charged in relation to a crash on Thornton Road in October that killed Daniel Henriksen.

Mr Henriksen died when his vehicle collided with another on October 5.

A 33-year-old Whakatāne man will appear in the Whakatāne District Court on March 17 on three charges related to the crash.

He is charged with causing the death of Mr Henriksen by carelessly using a motor vehicle on Thornton Road while driving on the “wrong part of the road”.

He is also charged with two counts of careless driving causing injury.
