Sunday’s Top School event at Awakeri School was a little soggy and a bit muddy, but that didn’t stop competing teams and their cheerleaders from displaying heaps of enthusiasm and school spirit.

All 30 teams competed in five events with great team work, speed, agility, accuracy and strength on show.

The crowd stood in raincoats and under umbrellas cheering everyone on, led by six superb cheerleading teams with co-ordinated routines.

Awakeri School principal Louise Howard thanked all the sponsors and volunteers who made the event possible.
