OSCA has donated a new Halo microchip scanner to its fellow rescue organisation, Opo Pups.
“With the importance of microchipping, it is absolutely wonderful to be gifted a Halo microchip scanner from OSCA,” said Marliese Kristensen of Opo Pups.
“It will save me time calling into the vets or OSCA when I need to know urgently if a dog is microchipped or not,” said Ms Kristensen.
Centre manager for OSCA Kathleen Young said microchipping was becoming even more important with the stray cat issue in Ōpōtiki, and for any lost or injured cats and dogs. “Reuniting them quickly is key.”
With the increasing demands associated with dogs in the community, the scanner is an essential piece of equipment for Opo Pups.
“It was a pleasure to be able to do this for them,” she said.
