Whakatāne will be host to a Ready to Rent educational workshop tomorrow, equipping participants with the tools to navigate the rental market with confidence.
The Ready to Rent programme is designed to reduce the barriers many whānau face when trying to secure accommodation.
Each session covers education, consequences, financial literacy and how to keep a home warm, dry and healthy.
Workshop participants leave with a better understanding of tenancy expectations, responsibilities and rights, financial literacy and budgeting, navigation of the housing system and how to avoid common roadblocks.
Organiser Pacific Growth Services partners with local experts to deliver each of the topics, fostering familiarity to aid future interactions at property viewings, bank counters and MSD desks.
This will be the fifth Ready to Rent workshop run by Pacific Growth Services in the Bay of Plenty this year, and a first for Whakatāne.
It is suited for people who are looking to secure a private rental, or who would like more information on how to sustain a tenancy.
Ready to Rent Whakatāne starts at 9.30am at Eastbay Reap on Pyne Street. Morning tea and lunch are provided.
Register by emailing [email protected] or come along on the day.
