I thank Dr Jessica Sneha Gray for her very thoughtful opinion in Beacon, Wednesday, July 8 regarding racism she and her elderly mother experienced in our town.

The opinion piece was beautifully written to reflect the impact racism has on the entire community, and how we as a community need to understand and call out racism in all its forms if our community is to thrive.

I commend Jessica on her writing to bring awareness to this important issue and challenge us to become more thoughtful about this issue.
