Tamariki and their whānau enjoyed a morning of stories, waiata and fun at Te Tāhuhu o Te Rangi yesterday as the library got behind this year’s Dunk it for Plunket fundraiser.

The special Storytime session was organised and delivered by children’s librarian Rachel Legault, with families gathering at the Ōpōtiki library for a morning combining the usual Storytime favourites with an opportunity to support an important cause.

Tamariki enjoyed stories, waiata and colouring activities before sharing morning tea, while also learning about the support Whānau Āwhina Plunket provides to children and families throughout Aotearoa.

The library said the event was a chance to bring families together while raising awareness of the work carried out by Plunket and encouraging the community to get behind the September fundraiser.

Te Tāhuhu o Te Rangi thanked everyone who attended the special Storytime and those who made donations, saying their support helped make the event a fun and meaningful occasion for the community.

Dunk it for Plunket is continuing throughout September, with people still able to contribute even if they were unable to attend the Ōpōtiki event.
