I agree with Stephanie Hunt (Beacon, October 7).

The 20ft sculpture planned on the corner of the Hub, to me, looks more like an elephant with legs.

If the artist wants to make a kiwi sculpture, then put it at the entrance to Gorge Road in front of the car park where the bird walk starts. That is kiwi country.

If a tourist wants to take a photo of a kiwi then it certainly would look better with some greenery and bush in the background and not concrete, tarseal and cars.
