Save our public health

The Save Our Public Health Roady is on its way to Whakatāne.

Patient Voice chair Malcolm Mulholland and Kaitiaki Hauora spokesman Dr David Galler started at the bottom of the country on Sunday and are working their way north, stopping in towns and cities along the way to ask a fairly simple question: “What the heck is going on with healthcare where you live?”

They will be at the Lyceum Club on Domain Road, Whakatane, on October 12 at 6pm.

They want to hear about what health looks like in the Eastern Bay.

What it looks like looks like when people need a GP, when Whakatāne Hospital is short-staffed, when a when a service disappears, when you must wait months for care, or when the people trying to provide that care wondering how much longer they can keep doing it.

Mullholland and Galler are inviting people with health concerns in the Eastern Bay to join them with their questions, and to share what is happening with healthcare in the region.
