1. The National coalition took on a huge debt to be paid back with huge interest payments and has had to endure a fuel crisis as well. They are showing fiscal restraint and are not raising taxes for three years.
Christopher Luxon believes Māori ceded sovereignty to the Crown and that we have one law for all New Zealanders. Thanks to Labour we now owe $300 billion.
2/ The Labour Party will not make things better with promises of spending $33.18b so 'Better will not start now". This means more of the Jacinda Ardern-style of running the country.
The Labour coalition believe Māori did not cede sovereignty to the Crown and believe we should promote co governance and separate Māori wards without having a referendum, which is undemocratic.
3. New Zealand First believes we are one people and that Māori ceded sovereignty to the Crown and that the Waitangi Tribunal gravy train needs winding up and they will change legislation in the first 100 days if elected so that Ngāpuhi gets paid with a full and final clause added to their settlement
4. Act Party has reduced the cost of school lunches saving millions of dollars and wants to wind back treaty claims to 2008 and is supported by NZ First and both parties want to get out of the Paris accord, which I personally think is a good thing to do.
5. Te Pati Māori want separate prisons, co governance, Māori wards, separate health care system and promises to increase spending by billions with no accountability. They would like to give gang patches back; they promote separatism and are unapologetic.
6. The Green Party want to represent the gangs and give back their patches, helped shut down our oil and gas industry that cost thousands of New Zealanders their jobs, and helped shut down Marsden Point oil refinery. They want a wealth tax as well as a capital gains tax, which have all been ruled out by the right-wing parties. The Greens want to reinstate the more expensive hot meals for schools at a much greater cost. They are promising to increase government spending by $247 billion (Taxpayers’ Union Bribe-o-meter). They shut down using our own coal only to import dirty coal from overseas.
7. The Opportunity Party (TOP) want to work with everyone except Winston Peters by ruling him out as foreign minister. The Labour leader said a vote for TOP would be a wasted vote and the National leader has ruled out working with TOP. I believe TOP is that desperate to get their feet under Parliament’s table that they will say anything with costs and promises and bottom lines totalling $239 billion (Taxpayers’ Union Bribe-o-meter). TOP want a land tax and are a true left-wing party affiliated to Labour with their general manager being former Labour MP Iain Lees Galloway, who in 2020 co-founded a short-lived social enterprise with Toni Grace, Labour leader Chris Hipkin’s fiancee
I would sooner vote for a right-wing coalition Government rather than a left-wing communist coalition Government.
