Games, prizes, local food and a chance to discover what’s on your doorstep will bring the community together at Meet the Locals in Kawerau tomorrow.
Returning for its second year, the free event runs from 10am to 1pm on Saturday at the Ron Hardie Centre.
It brings together 26 organisations alongside local market holders and food vendors.
Families can enjoy a kids zone, join in games and explore the stalls, with free clothing available and prizes on offer through participating organisations.
Among those attending are Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Bay, Hato Hone St John, Citizens Advice Bureau, Kawerau Menz Shed, Kawerau Arts Society, Kawerau Seed Library and The Clothing Project.
It’s also an opportunity to ask questions, find practical support or discover a new interest, with people from clubs, groups and services ready for a chat.
Hosted by Collective Community Kawerau, with support from the Eastern Bay of Plenty Community Network and Chris Ford Events, the event welcomes both longtime residents and those new to town.
Bring the whānau, invite a neighbour and pop in to meet the people doing great things in your community. Entry is free.
