On Tuesday, 21 April 2026, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Golden Pond, Whakatane, aged 91 years. “Just as the seasons turn and the garden rests in winter to bloom again in spring, Nel has completed her journey in life’s natural circle”. Wife of the late Bert Immink (dec 2011) and much-loved mother and mother-in-law of Lex and Keriana Immink; Walter and Lesley Immink; Veronica and Brian Sheaff; Yvonne and Tony Panasewych; Olga (Ollie) and Allan (Snow) Goldsmith. Cherished Oma to Anneke and Caley; Matthew and Kathryn; Nicole and Bevan; Andrew and Natalie; Natasha, Janine and Billy; Martina and Evan; Jordan, Ben, Vanessa, Rebecca and Scott; Simone and Dylan; Katelyn and Devon. Beloved Grote Oma to Mikaere, Cruiz, Levi, Lily, Ryan, Emily, Luka, Daisy, Fox, Azaleah, Danielle, Millie, Cooper, Leila and Madden. What she planted in love continues to grow - with her family and in the many lives she helped to flourish. A celebration of Nel’s life will be held in the chapel of Willetts Funeral Services, 21 King Street, Whakatane on Friday 24th April at 2pm, followed by a private cremation.
